Depending on who you were, Richard was called many things....son, grandson, brother, husband, father, cousin, uncle, friend and his favorite title, PawPaw. He was even Santa Claus and Elvis on more than one occasion!
When he was 18 he married the love of his life, Delisa Dobson (Carver). In 38 years of marriage, they were blessed with 3 amazing children and 5 beautiful grandchildren. He loved his family. They were his world and he was theirs. He was never more proud than when they were all together.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter. And if you knew him you knew he loved to make people laugh. He always had a joke to share, a prank to pull or simply something funny to say to bring a smile to your face. He was good at that. And he was never afraid to say "I love you", ever. If you knew him, you knew that you were loved, no doubt about it.
His relationship with people was special but his relationship with Jesus was greater. He made the decision to follow Jesus on April 7th, 2000 at FBC Grangerland. He joins his grandparents: Bonnie Mobley and Harold Purgason; and Henry and Gail Carver; his uncles: Danny Purgason, John Mobley, Charles Felkins; aunt: Alma "Sissy" Pillow; and cousin: Michelle Mitcheltree in their heavenly home.
He is survived by his loving wife, Delisa Carver; daughter and son in law, Amanda and Eric Lewis; daughter Kaitlyn Carver; son, Bryce Carver; grandchildren: Jaxon Lee Phillips, Cooper Glen Carver, Addisyn Jo Carver, Emma Grace Lewis and Gage Conley Carver. Also surviving him are his mother and father: Henry and Mary Carver; sisters: Bonnie and husband David Armour, Connie Ivester, Brenda Fairfield, Kathy and husband Phillip Hicks; nieces and nephews: Beth Dobyns, J.T. Mayo, Juston Armour, Zackary Mayo, Sara Wichert, Jennafer Persinger, Maegen Kaminsky, Hollie Kaminsky and Brent Fiesel and countless other family and friends.
Aside from loving people, Richard shared a love of carpentry and could build or fix anything. He excelled with just duct tape and a hammer! He was a skilled craftsman and people were always calling on him for help. If you ever needed a hand, he was right there. Faithful friend he was. And if you're lucky, you have a piece or a room in your home built by his hands.
And for those who had the privilege of knowing Richard and his goofy self...
"Hey, pull my finger!"
