Huntsville, TX—Rebecca Ann Goetz Bayes, 44, went to be with the Lord Thursday evening, October 19, 2017, in her home surrounded by her adoring family. She was born December 22, 1972 in Hollywood, CA, the daughter and eldest child of Thomas and Joyce Goetz. Rebecca married Daniel Bayes on January 14, 2001 in Irvine, CA.
Rebecca loved helping others and was someone who others felt comfortable bringing their problems to. Rebecca never made people feel judged and no one was beneath her. For her family and those close to her she was like an anchor in the midst of any storm. Whether in her work at Bayes Achievement Center where she worked for many years, in her church service, or in her care for her family, she was always ready to put her interests aside to help bear the burdens of others. Rebecca and her husband spent 5 years serving the Lord as missionaries in Eastern Europe before they moved to College Station, Texas where she continued to serve the Lord in student ministry at Texas A&M while caring for her family. In recent years after moving with her family to Huntsville, TX she worked at Bayes Achievement Center, a private school for students with special needs.
Rebecca is survived by her three sons, Benjamin (13), Aaron (10), and Samuel (8), her husband, Daniel Bayes, her two younger sisters, Jennifer Payan, and Naomi Whitesel, her brother Timothy Goetz, and her parents Thomas and Joyce Goetz. Rebecca was preceded in death by her son, Andrew.
