Melvin C. Smith

Melvin Charles Smith, 77, of Houston, Texas, passed away on Friday, December 24, 2010. He was born in Lolita, Texas but was raised in Corpus Christi, Texas. Melvin loved to travel the world and then reminisce about the places he had been. He was preceded in death by his parents Richard and AdaLee Solomon. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 56 years Nina M. Smith, daughter Melony Davis and husband Glen Crawford, son Chris Smith and wife Christine, sister Julia Parrie and husband David, brother Richard Smith and wife Jerrie, grandchildren Justin Davis, Jordan Davis, Brittany Smith, Joshua Smith and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 30, 2010 at 12:30 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas, in the Cashner Colonial Chapel.
