Mary Emma Welch

Born January 16, 1934 to W.K. and Ruth B. Murphy in Avery, Texas. Mary married James E. Welch on October 31, 1952 in Avery, Texas. They built a life together in Houston, where they owned and operated a successful family business for many years while raising three sons and in 1969 the family moved to Conroe.

Mary was the matriarch of the family and loved everyone who knew her. She was a wife, businesswoman, homemaker, an excellent cook and the mother to three sons.

Mary is preceded in death by her husband James E. Welch, son Michael L. Welch and son James Bruce Welch, parents W.K. and Ruth B. Murphy, and sister, Peggy Phillips.

Mary is survived by her son, Gary L. Welch and wife Debbie, Daughters in law, Tammy Welch and Teri Welch. Grandchildren, Tim Welch and wife Shelly, Todd Welch and wife Tammy, Christy Welch, Tracey Welch, Alan Welch, Sam Welch, and Adam Welch. Great grandchildren, Emily, Mary, McKenzie, Tate, Kaylee, Cole, Dylan and Carter. Mary has one Great-great Granddaughter Emma Jean Gill. Sister Lynda Whitten, cousins Katy Audas, Betty Jo Middlestead and numerous special nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 1, from noon until 2:00PM at Cashner Funeral Home and graveside service at 2PM at Garden Park Cemetery.
