Martha Sue Hopkins Stroud

Martha Sue Stroud passed away January 18, 2015, at the age of 80. She was born on September 9, 1934 in Ryan, OK to Charlie and Rady Hopkins. Martha graduated from Boswell Highschool in 1952. She was a devoted member of Spring Wood United Methodist Church for 40 years; the Pioneer Groups for 20 years and Wayne Newton International Friends Club and Wayniac year of 1998. Sue worked at Southwestern Bell for 26 years before retiring. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, James A. Stroud, Jr. Sue is survived by her daughter, Vicki Stroud and husband Westley Smith of Spring, sons, James Atwood Stroud III of Houston and Brian Stroud with Phyllis Martin of Montgomery, brother, Henry M. Hopkins of Boswell, OK, grandchildren, Christopher J. Gunter and wife Trisha, Justin T. Gunter and wife Linda Morataya, Jared C. Martin, Lillian K. Sullivan and Taylor Almaguer, great grandchildren, Paisley K. Gunter, Emma T.A. Gunter, Luci Almaguer and numerous other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at a visitation, on Saturday, January 24, 2015, from 2 till 3 pm with the Funeral service to follow at 3 pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77301. Interment will take place Monday, January 26, 2015, at 11:00 am in Plain Dealing Cemetery in Plain Dealing, LA.
