Martha Belle Evans

Martha Belle Haynes Evans, 85, passed away on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Windfield Nursing home in Crockett Texas. Martha was born October 26, 1930 in Burleson, Texas. She graduated from Burleson High School and later Married Sam Evans. In 1963 they moved to Conroe Texas, where they were members of First United Methodist Church Conroe. Martha was a volunteer in several organizations that included the local clothing pantry, the Bargain Box, Conroe Service League, the UMW. After her children graduated from college she matriculated and graduated with honors from Harris County Community college. Martha spent many years working on family history which culminated in the publication of a book. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Colonial Dames, and Eastern Star. From 2003-04 she was Regent of Margaret Montgomery Chapter DAR. She worked tirelessly as she helped many people complete their research for entry into these organizations. Martha is preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Bessie Haynes, and her Husband Sam Evans. Martha is survived by sons Samuel Dennis Evans and Wife, Lisa, of New Waverly, Patrick Haynes Evans and Wife, Debbie, of Crockett, daughter, Sharon Diann Chancey and husband, Doug, of Palm Bay Florida, sister, Dorothy Haynes Smith of Fort Worth, Grandchildren, Stephanie Evans Butkus, Stacy Volkmer, Sandra Woodward, Kyle Chancey Christopher Chancey, Alexander Evans, Jacob Colburn and Erin Waters, great grandchildren, John Samuel Butkus, Chloe Butkus, Brooks Butkus, Adelaide Volkmer, Roan Volkmer, Trinity Woodward, Mackenzie Woodward, Brinkley Woodward, Matthew Chancey, Kylie Chancey, Korbin Chancey, Ashley Colburn, Salome Colburn, Graham Colburn, Aidan Waters, and Bailey Waters. Visitation will be held Monday, February 22, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 12:30pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Jim Welch officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kyle Chancey, Doug Chancey, Alex Evans, John Samuel Butkus, Ryan Volkmer and John Butkus. Honorary Pallbearer will be Chris Chancey.
