A Funeral Service for Linda June Overbay, 78, of Montgomery will be held Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the Metcalf Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Justin Dancer and Rev. Johnny Lahman officiating. A Visitation will take place at 12:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Copeland Chapel Cemetery with Metcalf Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Overbay was born September 1, 1944 in Lott, Tx. and passed away on August 6, 2023 in Montgomery, Tx. My Mom was a strong woman treasured by many. She dedicated her life taking care her family. She knew sorrow having lost her husband 9 year ago and then losing her son and daughter in the past 2 years. Mrs. Overbay still stood strong and loved with all of her heart knowing that she would see her family again. She was ready to go home to Jesus and her family. Today she is celebrating with her big family, singing and dancing and praising Jesus that she loved. We talked about what we thought heaven would be like with the streets of gold and she said that she didn’t care it was dirt as long, as she got there. Mom this is not Goodbye just see you later. We love you.
Mrs. Overbay was preceded in Death by her parents, J.G. & Odlia Howze; her husband, Everette Overbay; her son, Clay Overbay and her daughter, Sue Overbay. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Burns & husband, John; a Grandson, James Burns & his wife, Tiffany and Three Great Grandchildren, Paisley, Jacob and Lauren.
The Pallbearers will be David Yoakum, Thomas Hejl, Devin Vanhove, James Burns, Bubba Finney, Ryan Edgins, Alex Overbay and Emmanuel Overbay. Honorary Pallbearer is J.R. Hejl.
