Linda Susan Bonham passed away on November 21, 2023. She took her last breath surrounded by her wonderful and loving husband and best friend, Gary, and her beloved sister Jean Ann. She is survived by her five daughters, Julie, Jill, Jamie, Jennifer, Alison, and stepson John. She devoted her life to “her girls” and was the epitome of an exceptional mother. She shared that same love and guidance with her ten grandchildren, and they all adored their “mum”. She was a hands-on grandmother who spent countless weekends interacting with her grandchildren as she was a true kid at heart. In addition, she leaves behind her brother Greg whom she cherished, her niece Tracy, her son-in-law Chad, and her son-in-law Andrew who lovingly cared for her throughout her sickness. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Paul and Bill, and the many dogs and cats that she loved so dearly.
Born in Huntington, West Virginia, Linda received her undergraduate degree from Marshall University. She continued her education at West Virginia University where she completed her Master’s degree and doctoral work. Linda went on to excel in her career as a teacher for over 35 years. She won multiple awards for her teaching in both Florida and Texas, including being named a “Spotlight Teacher”, not once, but twice, for Cy-Fair ISD. She was a genuinely kind person who treated everyone as though they were a friend. No words will ever truly describe her heart of gold, but she was the type of person the world needs more of. She was an avid reader and enjoyed attending concerts with her husband. A lover of dogs, trips to Mc Donald’s /Jack In The Box, WVU football, the Houston Texans, and all things purple, she will be missed beyond measure. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the English Springer Rescue America (where she rescued many of her dogs) or to the ALS Fund at Houston Methodist, so one day a cure can be found. A special thanks to Dr. Appel and the ALS clinic at Houston Methodist. They work tirelessly to help their patients and we wish them luck in their fight to end ALS.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023 beginning at 2:00pm at Tomball Methodist Church, 1603 Baker Dr. Tomball, Texas 77375.
