Leslie was born on Wednesday, October the 23rd, 1946 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was the 4th daughter to Virginia & Brian Rose.
After graduating from Tulsa Central Highschool in 1964, she went on to attend North Eastern Oklahoma A&M where she earned her Associate Arts Degree. She then continued to feed her adventurous spirit and landed in San Jose, California where she worked at Lockheed Aerospace and proudly ran around in her 1967 Plymouth Barracuda. In October of 1969, she met her future husband, Larry Whittington who was in the Marine Corp stationed in San Francisco. Larry saw the special soul she was and proposed on their 2nd date. After 3 months and several more proposals, she finally and whole heartily said “Yes” and then they wed on April 25th of 1970. Leslie & Larry began building their life and moved to Houston, TX going on to have 4 daughters. After having their 1st born, Leslie dedicate her life to being a full time mother and lifetime nurturer to her entire family.
She touched everyone she met with a spirit of happiness, never met a stranger and had a non-judgmental perspective that all should strive to emulate. “Rose” colored glasses were always in fashion with Leslie and will never go out of style. Her infectious inner light allowed others to learn how to forgive, love and accept whatever this life brought.
Leslie had an unwavering faith and an unmatched commitment to her heavenly father. God was always the center of her life. Her love for her savior guided her thru the happy, the sad, the unbearable and most importantly to her afterlife where she is at peace and is waiting for all of us.
