LaVerne Lauterbach

LaVerne E. Lauterbach passed away peacefully on Monday, March 6 surrounded by her children. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Joseph J. Lauterbach , Jr, her parents Bernadette and Cyril Forney, her sister Bernice McCloskey, her father, Thomas Morris, her son-in-law John P. Janota, and her granddaughter Meggan Janota. She is survived by her children; Mary Lou Janota of Annapolis, MD; Joseph Lauterbach III of Pittsburgh, PA; Thomas Lauterbach and wife Susan from Willis, TX; David Lauterbach and wife Dana from Humble, TX; Coleman Lauterbach and wife Mary Rose from Laurel, MD; John Lauterbach from Spring, TX; and twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister and brother, Roseann Farkasovsky and C.Nicholas Forney, both of Pittsburgh, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. LaVerne was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and throughout her life lived in Pittsburgh, Erie, Johnstown, Grapevine, Houston, and Willis, TX. At the time of her death, she was a resident of Rosemont Assisted Living in Humble, TX. She loved swimming and waterskiing with her family at their summer cottage. She was an avid Bridge player, held annual cookie exchanges, and celebrated the first day back to school with champagne. She enjoyed gathering around the kitchen table for coffee, conversation, and a smoke with her husband, children, grandchildren, dearest neighbors and close family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at Metcalf Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. till 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary to follow. Funeral Mass will take place on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N Frazier St, Conroe, TX 77301. The family wishes to acknowledge the caring and loving staff of Rosemont Assisted Living who made our mother's final years happy, safe, and comfortable.
