Born on September 1, 1973, Kisha was the beloved only child of Jacqueline and James Walker. Her journey began in Los Angeles until 2004, when she relocated to Houston, Texas to be close to her mom and grandmother.
Kisha was a force of nature, embracing life with boundless enthusiasm. From her days running track at Gardena High School, where she proudly graduated in 1991, to her adulthood marked by a love for adventure. Traveling, taking cruises, and delighting in the thrill of amusement parks were just a few of her passions. Music coursed through her veins, and the rhythm of life was her dance floor, with SWV's "Weak" and Keke Wyatt's "Nothing In This World" serving as her anthems. She delighted in scratch-offs and dreaming as she bought Lottery tickets. And, how she loved a touch of sparkle, her love for collecting jewelry reflecting her bright spirit.
Though Kisha now joins her beloved son, Keyshaun Sterling, who preceded her in 2004, and her father, James Walker, who departed in 2021, her legacy continues through those who remain to cherish her memory. Among them are her devoted son, Demauria Walker-Adams, and his wife Katie Walker-Adams, her cherished daughter Deyzha Walker-Patterson, her son Michael Anderson, Jr., and his wife Ra’Janae Young, as well as her adored daughters Sydney Sterling and Aaliyah Sterling. She leaves behind her beloved mother Jacqueline Walker, along with a lineage of precious granddaughters: Aubrielle, Brooklyn, Courtland, and Madelyn, each a testament to her enduring love and legacy.
Kisha's presence was a vibrant thread, weaving joy into every gathering. A resilient single mother, she approached life with a determination that inspired all who knew her, earning her the reputation as someone who "was always gonna get things done." She loved to give to others, and she had an unmistakable flair for standing out in any crowd. As we bid farewell to this luminous soul, may we carry forward the light she shared so freely. Kisha will forever be remembered as the life of the party, a beacon of strength and resilience, and a beloved presence who will be deeply missed but never forgotten
A visitation for Kisha will be held Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Restoration Church, 107 Fish Creek Thoroughfare, Montgomery, Texas 77316, followed by a celebration of life at 1:00 PM.
