Kenneth Rushing was born on July 17, 1942 and passed away on February 18, 2015. Son, father, brother, husband, Papa and friend. Each of these were things Kenneth W. Rushing was proud to be known as. Kenneth never missed an opportunity to tell people of how blessed he was to have Delinda, his love, care for him, after the devastating accident, that nearly took his life many years ago. Over the past 21 years, they were always there for one another, truly for better or worse, in sickness and in health, in happiness, and now even in sorrow. Kenneth was proud to have served in the U.S. Army, was a dedicated peace officer, serving the Great State of Texas in the Department of Public Safety as a State Trooper and a Special Ranger after retirement. Kenneth was preceded in death by his father Thomas Rushing; brother, George Rushing, and grand-daughter, Emily Rushing. Kenneth is survived by his mother, Edith Rushing of Willis, Texas; his beloved wife Delinda, also of Willis, Texas; brothers, Jimmy Rushing and wife Oleida, Nathan Rushing, and Buster Singleton.
He is also survived by his children, Cheryl Rushing Graham and husband Rick, Kenneth Rushing, Jr., Charline Ballew, Charles Ballew and wife Angela, William Ballew and wife Sandi, Theresa Ballew, Crystal Rahman and husband Firas. Kenneth will be missed by 22 adoring grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Numerous family and friends also love and miss Kenneth. The family would like to extend special thanks and all our love to Dr. Timothy Reynolds. Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Cashner Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Entombment will follow in Garden Park Mausoleum with Texas Honors presented by the State of Texas Department of Public Safety Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be current and retired DPS officers; Harvey Ward, Mike Moore, Kenneth Crossley, John Counts, Lonnie Williams, Derald Rogers, Jeff Shipley, and Nicky Kelly.
