Kathleen "Kat" Powell

Kathleen (Kat) Tinsley Powell, 96, kept her appointment with her Lord on July 17, 2011 in Conroe, Texas. Kathleen was born February 15, 1915, in Madisonville, Texas. She was a member of Longmire Road Church of Christ, a devoted and beloved mother, daughter, friend and wife. She will be remembered for her generosity, radiant personality, and great sense of humor. Kat was loved by many and brightened our world with her beautiful smile. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Harry and Lila Tinsley, her husband of 54 years, Frank Powell, and sisters, Imogene Tinsley Hall Westmoreland and Virginia Tinsley Taylor.

She is survived by her Sons: Joe Allen Powell and wife, Judy of College Station, and Gerald Powell and Nita Crow of Richmond; grandchild: Jody Powell Reed of Montgomery; great-grandchildren: Julie Reed and Ashlee Reed of Montgomery; and brothers: Winston, Bobby, and Billy Tinsley of Madisonville; Numerous other friends and relatives also survive.

Funeral services for Kathleen will be held Thursday, July 21, 2011 at 10 a.m. in the Longmire Road Church of Christ with Mr. John Helbig and Mr. Joe Goodspeed officiating. Interment will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Centerville Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday July 20, 2011 from 5 to 7 pm at Metcalf Funeral Directors.
