She graduated from North East High School (Pennsylvania) and worked as a Master Scheduler at the General Electric Company in Erie, Pennsylvania and Roanoke, Virginia for 41 years. June was known for her gregarious nature, infectious laugh and friendly disposition. She was a gifted piano player, avid golfer, talented cook (amazing meatballs) and especially enjoyed gardening. After her retirement, June explored her artistic ability by creating beautiful grapevine wreaths and centerpieces which she proudly displayed in local craft fairs and shops throughout the Roanoke, Virginia area.
June was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Mary Valvo, her husband, Thomas Ferrick and her sister, Palma Martucci. She leaves behind her loving husband of 35 years, Joseph Bosta; daughter Shelley Cook (Terry) Houston Texas; son Thomas Ferrick (Cathi) Vienna, Virginia; step children Margaret Green (Jason) of Greensboro, N.C; Mark Bosta (Jennifer) Edinboro, PA; sisters Verna Halloran and Stephanie Childs (Robert); 10 grandchildren (Traci House, Jennifer Schwartz, Siena Ferrick, Campbell Ferrick, Tommy Ferrick, Madison Green, Eli Green, Josiah Green, Nika Bosta, Aela Bosta), many nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.
Friends may call at the William D. Elkin Funeral Home, 65 South Lake Street, North East on Saturday, August 27, 2022 from 8:30-10:00 am. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 at St. Gregory’s Thaumaturgus Church, 50 South Pearl St. Interment will be held at St. Gregory Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or the charity of one’s choice.
