Julia Florence Carnes Buckner passed away on December 19, 2014 in The Woodlands, Texas. She was born in Clearwater, Texas on August 6, 1920, the daughter of Dolphus Clint and Julia Carolyn Carnes. She graduated from Winnsboro High School and worked for a number of companies in the Dallas area, retiring from E-Systems in Greenville, Texas as a data processing supervisor. She was always very active in her church family, singing in the choir, teaching children in Sunday school, and helping with Vacation Bible School. She attended the Pine Street Baptist Church in Winnsboro until moving to The Woodlands in 2004, and finding her new and loving church home at Alana Lane Baptist Church in Spring, Texas. Florence is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Murrell (Bud) Kenneth Buckner of Winnsboro, Texas, her sister, Pauline Metcalf of Dallas, Texas, and her brother John Edward Carnes of Irving, Texas. She is survived by her brother, James Oliver Carnes of Shenandoah, Texas and nephews Larry Metcalf of Dallas, Texas, Ned Carnes of Austin, Texas, Ken Carnes of The Woodlands, Texas and niece Cheryl Everett of Irving, Texas, along with several grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at Alana Lane Baptist Church in Spring, Texas with the Reverend Rod Averett officiating. Interment will be in Winnsboro, Texas with the graveside services conducted by Reverend Charles Ethridge, pastor of Pine Street Baptist Church.
