Judy Knight Nelson, born February 6, 1941 in Houston, Texas, passed away on March 11, 2018. She left this world with her children by her side, embraced in their love, to now be surrounded in the next by the love of God, her brother Johnny, sister Kathleen and parents Earl and Inez Gonzales. Judy is survived by her beloved husband: Paul; daughter: Kristine Patrick and husband Scott, sons: Steve, Johnny and wife Julie, Wade and wife Michelle, and nine grandchildren. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston and was a member of the Bagpipe Brigade. After high school she attended Sam Houston State University. She worked at Prudential Life Insurance where she met Paul and began dating. Just a short 6 months later they were married October 30, 1964 and had four beautiful children. She and Paul built Nelson Real Estate. She was the broker behind the energetic sales guru, Paul, and together they grew their dream.
Affectionately known as “Mamo” to her family, she was the ultimate caregiver and sounding board to everyone. She had unlimited patience, abundant love and an infectious smile. She was soft spoken but always able to find a way to impart her strong values and wisdom to her family teaching them to be self-sufficient, work hard and appreciate the little things in life. She left us with so many great memories of family traditions including Easter weekends at Anderson and her famous rice dressing at Thanksgiving and Christmas. She also loved gardening and teaching her children many life lessons through the adventures of raising and caring for animals. Friends are invited to the Memorial Service which will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, March 16, 2018 at Metcalf Funeral Directors, 1801 E. White Oak Terrace in Conroe.
