A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow.
In loving memory of Jose R. Perez, who peacefully passed away at his home surrounded by his beloved wife Yolanda and family on November 17, 2023, at the age of 86. While our hearts ache, we take solace in knowing he is now in a better place.
Born on April 21, 1937, in San Antonio, TX, to Dora and Jose Perez, Jose served in the Army from 1954 to 1957. He married Yolanda on June 22, 1958, and over their 65 years together, they were blessed with three children, seven grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
A pillar of strength and a mentor to all, Jose dedicated 34 years of his life to working for Volkswagen of America. He relocated from Texas to New Mexico and finally settled in Montgomery, Texas in 2006.
Jose actively engaged in Restoration Church, demonstrating his devotion as a dedicated follower of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dora and Jose Perez; siblings Doty and Danny; and son Joe Antony Perez.
Jose is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda; children Patricia and Miguel Valdez, Melissa and Jeff Mueller; grandchildren Angelica and Bryan Lowery, Julian and Jennifer Perez, Miguel and Ledia Valdez, Joe II and Ashley Perez, Ariana Perez, Briana and Matthew Prickett, and Jeremy and Karina Mueller; as well as great-grandchildren Micaela, Kross, Isabella, Julian Jr., Joe III, Emma, Ezekiel, Bagwell, Maximillian, Israel, Mateo, Camdyn, and Caprice.
In the words of an Irish poem, "Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal." Jose's memory will forever live on in our hearts
