John Winston Pitts

John Winston Pitts entered into the kingdom of our Heavenly Father on September 4, 2013. He was born on July 28, 1922 in Altus, Oklahoma to William Eugene Pitts and Margaret Ruth Aiken. The family moved to Texas in 1925. Winston attended public schools, graduating from Reagan High School in 1940. He entered the field of finance and banking in 1945 and spent 25 years with CIT financial and 15 years with the First National Bank of Commerce, New Orleans, LA. He resided in Louisiana 21 years and after retirement from the bank he returned to Conroe, Texas in Panorama Village to enjoy his love for golf and fishing. Winston was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret. His second wife, Hazel, preceded him in death February 22, 2005 by sister, Lillian Comardo Hurst; brother Adrian E. Pitts, and Helen Parker. There were no children born of either marriage but there were stepchildren that he loved very much. Surviving John is his sister, Betty Baker, numerous nieces and nephews and stepson Kyle Johnson and his wife Jeanie, stepsons Bernard and Jeffrey Brady. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Conroe, Texas, and a Lion Club member for many years. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10:00am in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Pastor Brian Baker. Graveside services will be held at 12:00pm in Brookside Cemetery.
