Steve was a gentle, but strong man, who loved his family more than anything.
Steve grew up in Conroe, Texas and was a 1973 graduate of Conroe High School.
He married his high-school sweetheart in 1975 and was a loving, faithful husband until the time of his passing. He and his wife of 46 years enjoyed traveling, especially to the mountains.
He was steady and kind
He was loyal and loving
He was brilliant and creative
He was an incredibly deep thinker and at the same time an amazing listener
He was a protector.
Spending time with him was a space of calm and safety for so many.
His sons knew what it was like to have a dad who showed them how to love and to be a man of your word.
Steve always did the right thing. Always made the honest choice. He was old-fashioned in the best kinds of way. But was one of the coolest people you could ever meet.
Steve worked in the service industry for 30 years (garage doors and security gates), but his passion was always music.
Steve was an incredible musician. When he touched any instrument, he gave it life. He gave it a voice. He could make a guitar sing!
Steve gave his heart to the Lord in 1980, and spent the next 41 years playing on various bands and worship teams with his brothers, his sons, his dear friends and so many gifted and incredible musicians, singers, leaders, rockers and worshipers!
In 2012, he and his wife began their own business, MariGold Foods, making and selling protein bars. Steve was our #1 taste tester, made bars, and kept everything running smoothly.
He loved good coffee and even roasted his own for many years. He found joy working in the garden, feeding birds, sitting quietly enjoying nature, and making his family cry from laughter with his oddball sense of humor.
He loved dogs, Sasquatch, Middle-earth and UFO’s.
He will live forever in our hearts.
