He peacefully passed away at the age of 77 on August 29, 2024 surrounded by his two daughters, his loving family and the dedicated caretakers who supported him in his final years.
John graduated from Conroe High School in 1966 and went on to earn his degree from Austin College in Sherman, Texas, in 1970. He lived life to the fullest, embracing every opportunity for excitement and adventure. Whether it was boating, shooting, hunting, fishing, or riding his motorcycle, John approached every endeavor with enthusiasm and a zest for life. John’s love for all things artillery was well-known, and he took great pride in building an impressive collection. His passion for motorcycles led him on legendary tours across the country, often accompanied by equally legendary tales of mishaps and triumphs.
A lifelong member of the Methodist church, John’s faith was a constant in his life, providing a strong foundation for his many pursuits. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Mary Elizabeth Hall Perkins. John leaves behind his loving daughters, Lauren Elizabeth Hall and Sarah Ann Hall Smith-Wright; son-in-law Matthew Smith-Wright; and cherished granddaughters, Grace Elizabeth Smith-Wright and Anna Catherine Smith-Wright, as well as a host of beloved cousins, nephews and friends who will forever remember his vibrant personality and generous heart.
John’s legacy of adventure, courage, and love will continue to inspire all who knew him. May he rest in peace knowing that his life was well-lived and his memory will be forever cherished.
Funeral services for John Henry Hall will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel in Conroe, Texas. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery, in which he will be laid to rest alongside his parents and sister in eternal peace.
