We remember our beloved James Earl McDonald whose spirit departed from is on June 12th at the age of 84. James possessed a deep love for the Lord and was baptized with His spirit. James was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness who has left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Born in 1940 in Leachville, AR James Earl McDonald was the last of 6 kids born to Jess and Jospene. James’ siblings include Donna Boutin, Christine Faulkner, Elmer McDonald, Oscar McDonald, and Dorothy Johnson.
James met his wife Mary when he was 17 years old and she was 14. On February 20th 1961 they eloped. James and Mary were married 59 wonderful years before her passing. James was a devoted husband who embodied Ephesians 5:25 which reads, “husbands, love your wives, even as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.” His life was marked with a sacrificial love for his wife.
James is survived by his two adult children April Obermiller and James McDonald. His four grandchildren Alexis Youst, Heidi Dozier, James McDonald and his spouse Marlene McDonald, and Crystal Navarre and her spouse Kolton Navarre. His son-in-law Roger Obermiller; daughter-in-law Belsy McDonald; his eight great-grandchildren Ashton McDonald, David Navarre, Gabriel McDonald, Kylie McDonald, Autumn McDonald, Wyatt McDonald, Abigail Dozier, and Jonah Dozier.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 5:00pm till 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at 10am at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, TX. Interment will follow at Garden Park Cemetery.
