Ione White passed away Saturday, April 5th at her home in Conroe, Texas. She was 100 years old and still active and very independent. Ione was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Dalton G. White, parents S. F. Sanders and Vlasta Sanders, brothers N. D. (Buddy) Sanders and wife, Pat, and S. F. Sanders Jr.
Ione was born in Wallis, Texas, and later moved and was raised in Houston. She graduated from Milby High School when she was 15 years old and shortly after enrolled in Massey Business College. After graduation she was hired by Hughes Tool Company where she worked for many years before retiring to start a family. Family was everything to Ione. She supported her husband, Dalton, in starting a concrete construction business and kept the books for over 40 years. This was all while raising two daughters, Karen and Janeice. Ione was always a successful, over-achiever. While helping run the construction company, she was active in the P.T.A. and often a home room mother for her daughter’s schools.
Ione was an accomplished baker and loved entertaining. Family and friends still talk about the annual Christmas Eve parties she so lovingly prepared. She enjoyed dancing, bowling, playing bridge and most of all being with family and friends. Family was always a top priority in Ione’s life.
Ione is survived by her daughters, Karen Martin and husband, Randall V. Martin, and Janeice Everett and her late husband Charles, grandsons, Trey Everett and wife Crystal, Taylor Everett and wife Dezirae, and great grandchildren, Madison, Remi and Mason Everett. Ione was loved by family, and many close friends who will miss her and always cherish her loving and kind spirit and laughter. She was the definition of a life well lived.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 5:00pm till 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home.
