Howard Kelly Roberts, born on July 13,1944, in Tyler Texas, bid farewell to the world on December 31, 2023, in Conroe, Texas. The son of Howard Watt Roberts and Rose Elizabeth Roberts who preceded him in death.
His larger-than-life spirit filled every room he entered and he embodied the true essence of a Texas entrepreneur. His life was a testament to the highs and lows of chasing fortunes, building and sometimes losing them.
Kelly's heart overflowed with generosity and kindness, always extending a hand to those in need. He never expected anything in return and continued to do all in his power to help everyone he encountered have a better life.
His storytelling process was legendary, leaving listeners in awe with tales spun from his colorful experiences. He was a Texan through and through, carrying the state's pride wherever he went. He was a loyal Dallas Cowboys and University of Texas football fan.
Kelly will be remembered for his vibrant persona, his unwavering Texas spirit and his relentless passion for life. His legacy of kindness, generosity and captivating tales will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Kelly will be missed by many people. He was always the one to stay in touch, never hesitating to pick up the phone night or day to ask how you are. He never left a friend behind.
Kelly was a devoted member of The Vineyard Church of Conroe, Texas. This loving church family had been a valued part of his life.
He is survived by his loving wife of eighteen years, Jean; four shared adult children, Benny Bryant, Melanie Wetter (Greg), Jason Bryant and Dawna Calderon; seven grandsons, Jake Muse (Morgan), Nicholas Muse, Christian Muse, Benjamin Bryant, Josh Bryant, Ryan Calderon and Drew Calderon. Each has given Kelly many moments of happiness. Two beautiful granddaughters, Callie Jean Wetter and Bella Grace Bryant; two sweet great-grandsons, Oliver and River Muse. All in the surrounding area.
Kelly is also survived by his loving sister Rosemary of Nacogdoches, TX and niece, Elizabeth Boone (Brad) of Houston, TX as well as a multitude of friends.
Visitation for Kelly will be on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 5PM to 7PM at Cashner Funeral Home, Conroe, Texas, 77303. Celebration of life service is on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 2PM, at The Vineyard Church of Conroe.
