She was the eldest of five children born to parents James Evanoff and Ruth Baier on January 28, 1930, in Missoula, Montana. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy, in 1948. After high school, she was going to school to become a nurse, but met and married the love of her life, John Thomas Anderson on April 20, 1950 and began raising a family. They had 6 children. They remained in Missoula until 1972, then moved to Texas. They lived 3 years in Odessa before moving to Montgomery County in 1975. They were married 54 years when her husband passed away on March 17, 2004.
The words to describe her best are Wife, Mom, Grandma and MeeMaw. She was a professional cook and worked several years for Del Lago Resort and Country Club on Lake Conroe. She loved watching sports which included her favorite teams, Houston Astros, Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys and the Seattle Seahawks, when they weren’t playing our Texas teams. Most of all, she loved her family, spending time with her family and the holidays.
Helen believed in our Lord Jesus Christ and attended Mass regularly until she was no longer able. Psalm 48.14, For this God is our God forever and ever, He will be our guide even to the very end.
Helen is preceded in death by her husband, John T. Anderson, parents, her sister Margaret Clarise Blue, brothers Robert Evanoff, Francis Eugene Evanoff, and Donald Evanoff and her daughter Jacqueline Andrews.
Helen is survived by children James Anderson and wife Karen, Gig Harbor, WA; Robert Anderson and significant other James Joly, Dallas, TX; JoAnn Hansen, Willis, TX; Therese Pringle and husband Vince, Willis, TX; Margaret Mercer and husband James, Kingwood, TX; Sister-in-law Marilyn Lowney, Houston, TX.
Grandchildren: Jennifer Richards and husband Jeffrey; Suzanne Matzat and husband Jason; Jeffery Anderson and wife Amanda; Jason Hansen; Christina Andrews and wife Melony Schexnayder Andrews, Jonathan Andrews; and Travis Andrews; Vince Pringle, II. and wife Danielle; Matthew Pringle; and Kristen Mercer.
Great-grandchildren: Kyle Richards and Allison Richards; Jacob Matzat and Katie Matzat; Maycie Andrews and Kase Andrews; Presley Pringle, Garner Pringle and Emerson Pringle. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Metcalf Funeral Home, 1801 East White Oak Terrace, Conroe, TX on Thursday, October 29, 2020, from 5-7 p.m. Rosary to follow at 7 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2020 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 109 N. Frazier, Conroe, TX.
