George Thomas Forbes, known as Tom to all, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Conroe, Texas on Wednesday morning March 15, 2017. He was 59 years old. Tom was born August 24, 1957 in Houston, Texas to George Forbes and Ethel Hoggatt Forbes. Once he moved to Conroe as a child in 1968, he became a lifelong resident and enthusiastic Conroe Tiger sports fan. He was a natural athlete, playing varsity football and baseball throughout high school and his first year of college. He loved to water-ski and spent many hours with his friends on Lake Conroe. He graduated from Conroe High School in 1975 and went on to graduate from Sam Houston State University in December 1979. After a short stint as a teacher and coach, Tom began work for Pepsi in sales, where he worked until his untimely death. He was a lifelong lover of music of all types as well as a voracious reader of history and western novels. Tom married Cindy Conn on June 15, 1990. He was a devoted husband as well as a wonderful father to their two daughters, Natalie Cramer and Ashley Forbes. Tom started adulthood with two hobbies, sports and hunting, but these were eclipsed once he married and became a parent, then later a grandparent. His love of family and children is shown in the love and respect his wife, family, friends and ultimately, the loves of his life, his grandchildren, returned to him tenfold. His loss is felt keenly by his family. Tom is survived by his wife, Cindy Forbes, daughters, Natalie Cramer (Donnie Cramer) and Ashley Forbes (Thomas Kocian) , grandchildren Bailee Frederickson, Tyler Frederickson, Carley Cramer and Wyatt Bell, parents George and Ethel Forbes, sister Melinda Forbes (Bruce Snider) and children, many nieces and nephews, as well as a numerous and loving extended family and friends.
