Frank Anthony Prentiss, age 69, of Houston, passed away peacefully with loved ones by his side on Thursday evening, December 22, 2011 in Conroe, Texas. A memorial service will be held 3:00pm Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Cashner Colonial Chapel in Conroe, TX, with Deacon Jim Gallagher officiating. Frank was born November 11, 1942 in Boston Massachusetts the son of Frank and Vera Prentiss and was raised in El Centro, California. After high school Frank joined the United States Navy and completed Naval Air Training as a Naval Aviator. While in the United States Navy, he achieved the rank of Lieutenant. Frank served in the Vietnam War piloting the C-130. Following the war, while in the Naval Reserves, Frank achieved the rank of Commander as a flight instructor. After the armed forces he became a commercial airline pilot for the next 32 years of his life. Frank lived his last years retired from all flight command in Willis, TX enjoying life with his wife Eliza. In retirement, Frank enjoyed working with his elaborate garden and fish pond, mornings at “the breakfast club” and spending time with his numerous pets. Frank is survived by his wife Eliza Prentiss, son Robert Prentiss, daughter Julia Prentiss-Treadway and son-in-law Andrew Treadway; three grandchildren: Lois, Anthony and Luke Treadway.
