Faye Ellen Corliss Proske passed away peacefully at the age of 83, surrounded by her loving family. She lived a lifelong example of compassion, grace, and unwavering faith. Faye was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Faye was born in Houston, Texas to Dewey and Edith Corliss on August 12, 1941. She graduated from Smiley High School and was a long-time resident of Montgomery County, Texas. Faye was married to the love of her life, J.C. Proske for 67 years. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and devotion.
Faye was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved son, James Michael Proske. She is survived by her loving husband J.C. Proske; daughters Belinda Proske Hardie, Deborah Proske Abernathy and husband Earnest, Rebecca Proske Pippin and husband Randy, Karen Proske Taylor, and Gina Proske Kessler and husband Dereck. She was a loving grandmother to Jason Hardie, James Phillip Fetterhoff, Judy Fetterhoff, Louis Taylor III, James Robert Stalcup, Corey Thomas, Leon Taylor, Willard Fetterhoff, and Nicole Taylor. She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life. In addition to her immediate family, Faye is remembered by her sisters Rosie Goodwin, Thelma Noster, and Laverne Barfield; brothers Edward, Sonny, Joe, and Teddy Corliss.
Faye had a very strong faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, which she carried with her throughout her life. Her hobbies included playing bingo, attending church, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was known for her warm hospitality, deep generosity. And strength of her spirit.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 10:00am at Cashner Funeral Home with the family receiving friends one hour prior. Interment will follow at Garden Park Cemetery. Faye will be remembered most for the love she gave so freely, the home she made for so many, and the faith that carried her through life. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched. She will be deeply missed, always loved, and forever remembered.
