Evie Lee Haese, 94, of Montgomery, Texas, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014. She was born on April 11, 1920 in Hugo, Oklahoma to Samuel and Hattie Spear. Evie was preceded in death by her husband Roger Haese and son Dennis Arthur Haese. She is survived by her sons David W. Haese and wife Helen, and Roger D. Haese and wife Marie Miguele; daughter Darlene Odom; grandchildren Roger David Haese and wife Angela, Danielle Casso, Kara Haese, Shannon Haese, Dustin Haese and wife Melissa, Mike Haese and wife Catherine, Hunter Haese, Russell Odom Jr., and Evie Nicole Odom; great-grandchildren Caden, Avery, and Austin Haese; brother Dale Spear and wife Evelyn; sister Gracie Joyce Tinklepaugh and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends. Evie was a loving and faithful wife of sixty-six years as well a devoted and adored mother and grandma. In her earlier years, she enjoyed traveling the world with her family due to Roger’s work in the oil field. Once she and Roger settled down in April Sound in 1980, where they lived for 32 years, she enjoyed playing golf with her friends and being surrounded by her grandchildren as they grew. She always had the garage fridge stocked with everyone’s favorite drinks, the cookie jar with cookies, and the bunny mug in the cabinet with gum. She was known for saving the day when someone called her from school about a forgotten lunch or gym uniform - her lunches were preferred because she always put lots of extra cookies in them and delivered them in a large paper grocery bag. Evie spent her last two years at Park Manor of Conroe where she was treasured for her kind, gentle spirit and sweet, thankful heart. She was also famous for her beautiful white hair and enjoyed watching Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and the birds on the feeder outside of her window. She looked forward to eating peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream almost every single day whether or not she “had room for dinner.” She also loved listening to stories from the Bible and never let a day pass by without asking about her grandchildren. Evie will be forever loved and deeply missed by her family. She will be honored as a veteran having served in World War II from 1942-1946. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home in the Cashner Colonial Chapel. Burial will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell Odom, Hunter Haese, Mike Haese, Dustin Haese, David Haese, and Bobby Haese.
