Evelyn Louise Jackson

Evelyn Louise Jackson of Conroe, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, October 31, 2016 at the age of 88. Evelyn was born October 27, 1928 to Minnie Ethel Presley and Cyril Wilhite Presley in Abilene, Texas. Evelyn was raised in Conroe, Texas and graduated from Conroe High School in 1946. After graduating Evelyn attended cosmetology school and worked as a hair stylist for over 40 years. Evelyn was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was an outstanding cook and loved sharing her delicious talents with friends and family. Evelyn was a faithful and loving member of the Church of Christ in Conroe, Deer Park, Anderson and Livingston, Texas. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband Boyd R. Jackson, sisters Juanita M. Presley and Helen M. Tilton, step-son Wesley Duane Jackson and nephew Danny Lee McDonald. Evelyn is survived by sister Nellodyne Presley McDonald; daughter Beverley Louise Melder and husband Webb, son Coy Mark Guinn and wife Cynthia Ann, step-daughter Marva McKibbon, step-daughter-in-law Sylvia Jackson; grandchildren, Tracy Melder and wife Rebecca, Courtney Melder Edmiston and husband Matt, Michelle Guinn, Wesley Jackson and Cheyenne Halloran; great-grandchildren, Barton Melder, Hunter Melder, Carson Melder, Collin Edmiston, Presley Edmiston, Brandy Bouley and Jayce Halloran; nieces and nephews, Rhonda McDonald Owens and husband Larry, Angela McDonald Griffin and husband Robert, James D. Tilton and wife Shirley, and great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank her long-time physician, Dr. A. Glenn Berwick and the staff at Avid Care Cottages for their kindness and special care. Visitation will be Friday, November 4, 2016, 12 – 1:30 PM with funeral service following at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Metcalf Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas. Interment will follow services at Perry Cemetery, 10477 Grant Road, Houston, Texas 77070.
