Eva May Sewell passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on June 2, 2016. She grew up in New Castle, Indiana and moved to Conroe, Texas in 1977 when her late husband, Carlos Sewell had a job transfer and made their home in River Plantation. Eva loved the game of golf and enjoyed playing with her twin sister, Faye. Eva was instrumental in starting the first committee for the Ladies Golf Association at Bentwater Country Club as well the American Cancer Golf tournament at Bentwater Country Club 26 years ago. Eva and Faye have a combined 16 hole-in-ones. Eva was a member of The First Baptist Church of Conroe for over 40 years, a 35-year volunteer for the Houston Golf Association, a member of the River Planation Country Club and Bentwater Country Club. Her husband, Carlos Sewell, her Mother, Mabel Catron Marcum and Brother James Catron, preceded her in death. Her Son, Todd Sewell, wife, Renei and her two grandchildren who were special blessings to her, granddaughter, Sydney Sewell Holliday husband, Chad and grandson, Chad Sewell, survives her. Her identical twin sister, buddy and best friend, Faye Powell and husband, Lewis Powell, also survive her. Sister-in-Law, Norma Fellers of New Castle, Indiana, and several cousins and nephews also survive her. The Family will receive friends on Monday, June 6, 2016 from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm with a service to celebrate her life at 3:00 pm in the Cashner Colonial Chapel with Reverend Jeff Berger officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date at South Mound Cemetery in New Castle, Indiana with Macer-Hall Funeral home coordinating services. The Family would like to thank Conroe Regional Hospital, Cornerstone Hospital of Conroe and Heart to Heart Hospice. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to The American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
