Emma Rebbiedee “Reba” Mizell Ellisor was born on December 25, 1932, in Cut and Shoot, Texas and passed away peacefully on February 12, 2022, at her home in Cut and Shoot, Texas. In high school she was an All-State athlete in volleyball and basketball. She enjoyed hunting and fishing with her brothers and worked alongside them on the family ranch. She started her career as a telephone operator at eighteen with the Conroe Telephone Company and finished at the Montgomery County Courthouse. Reba, Meemaw to her grandchildren, was a known artist who loved to paint and sew for her family. In her later years, she spent most of her time outside with her plants and flowers. Reba was the caretaker of the family. She helped care for her husband, brother, and mother in their final years. Her love for God led to her being a Sunday School teacher at New Bethlehem Baptist Church where she was a lifelong member.
Reba will be remembered as a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, by her husband, Walter Merle Ellisor, and by her daughter, Linda Perry. She is survived by her children Diane Sens, Merlene Gayle, Michael Ellisor and Ginger Horn. She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
There will be a visitation on Thursday, February 17th at New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cut and Shoot, Texas, from 6-8pm. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am Friday, February 18th at New Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cut and Shoot, Texas, with the burial at New Bethlehem Cemetery.
