Born again into the kingdom of heaven early in her life she devoted her life to missions and even though she was prevented by medical conditions from working in the mission field she was shown by God that missions are with you wherever you are. To that end she was actively involved with her church working with youth and women’s ministry’s and as a pastors wife she was also active with the church association helping the church’s working together in ministry to their communities. She continued this work into her 80’s.
She received an associate degree in the mid 1940’s and worked as an accountant at the Ford dealership and later for J.C.Penney’s.
She attended Sam Houston State University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Education with a minor in English. Even though her education was directed towards counseling she worked several years as an English teacher while mother and pastors wife were her primary jobs. After her sons had graduated high school She worked as a secretary for twenty years; first at the Northern Plains Baptism Convention and later for United Airlines.
She is survived by her sons G David Rutledge and Paul J Rutledge and by her Sister Frances Massey and her family Agape, it is well with our soul.
