Dorothy Lorraine McQueen

Dorothy Lorraine McQueen was born July 31, 1928, at the Hawthorn community near New Waverly Texas, to Walter and Liane Niederhofer.

She married Bill McQueen on July 10, 1945. During her married life, she lived in almost every town or city in Texas at one time or another until her husband’s death.

After her husband’s death, she worked for many years at the Auto Auction in Conroe, Texas.

She is preceded in death by both her parents, her husband, her brother W.D. Niederhofer, her sister Janis Hawkins, and both her brothers-in-law Norman Hawkins and Joe McLaren and many dear friends.

She is survived by her sister Judy McLaren, her niece Charlotte Gross and husband Mike, her nephew Norman Hawkins Jr. and wife Shelly, her niece Amy Alexander and a host of great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will occur Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 10:00 AM, 1801 E White Oak Terrace, Conroe, Texas with a visitation one hour prior. A graveside service and interment will follow at 12:00 PM at Old Waverly Cemetery, New Waverly, Texas.
