A memorial service for Donald Wirth, age 82, of Onalaska will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at 5 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Deacon George officiating. Visitation with the family will be held after the service from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home.
Donald was born June 11, 1929 in Syracuse, New York and passed away on August 28, 2011 in The Woodlands, Texas. Donald served his country in the U. S. Marine Corps as a gunning sergeant for 20 years, Semper Fi, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was a life time member of the V.F.W. Post 8568 and American Legion Post 312 in Livingston, Texas. He worked for the City of Houston E.M.S. and was a founding member of the Harris County Emergency Corps.
Donald is survived by his wife, JoAnn Simonson-Wirth; daughters, Cindy Lee Graham (Marvin), Peggy Vaa (companion C.J.) and Charline Ekenseair (Mikey); sons, Donald Wirth Jr. (Cheryl) and Christopher Simonson (Sandra); sister, Cathy Raymond (Ron); brothers, Raymond Wirth and John Wirth; grandchildren, Chris Wirth (P), Justin Graham (Brittany), Stacey Norris (Cory), Heather Ramirez (Marty), Lyle Vaa, Joshua Ekenseair, Jacob Ekenseair, Shelby Ekenseair, Adam Simonson (companion, Kristen Armstrong), Samantha Simonson, Sara Simonson and Daniel Simonson; great grandchildren, Carrissa Wirth, Corbin Norris, Noah Ramirez and Aiden Crampton; good friend, Dutchie; and aunt, Mary Shertz. Numerous other family and friends also survive.
