Don Ragsdale, 78 passed from this world Monday, January 13, 2014. He was born February 28, 1935 to Lester and Maxine Ragsdale in Lubbock, Texas. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 12:30pm at Cashner Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Ragsdale officiating. Burial will follow after the funeral service in Garden Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Cashner Funeral Home. Don was in the United States Air Force where he met Millie, the love of his life and married her 3 months later. He retired from Halliburton and called himself oilfield “trash” all his life. He was the biggest tease and practical joker. He loved telling stories on himself and his family. He was known for his world famous bbq ribs. Don never met a stranger and could talk to anyone about anything and loved politics. Although, he did not say it much he loved his family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Maxine Ragsdale, Brother, Larry Ragsdale and grandparents, O.D and Gypie Yeager. He is survived by this wife of 57 and half years, Millie, daughters, Denise and husband Michael Stewart; Donna Brannon, grandchildren, Jared and Cody Stewart, Billy Brannon and wife Lana, Layne Brannon, Michelle Bischof and husband Paul, great grandchildren, Levi Risner and Ellee Bischof, brother, Max Ragsdale, sister, Liz Lemoine and husband Paul. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive. Pallbearers will be Layne Brannon, Jared Stewart, Cody Stewart, Michael Stewart, Fred Hargrave and Bill McVickers. Honorary pallbearers will be Max Ragsdale, Robert Borrero, Davis Moore, Joe Kinnemon, Brent Ragsdale and Joe Williams.
