Dolores Brownlow, 82, beloved wife, mother, "Mimi", and friend, passed away peacefully on September 17, 2018, after a 17-year battle with Lyme and Alzheimer's disease. Dolores was born in New Deal, Texas on May 4, 1936, to John H. and Helen Reagan. She attended New Deal High School, where she was the drum major, played on the basketball team, and was crowned homecoming queen. After graduation in 1954, Dolores went on to attend Texas Tech University and she married her high school sweetheart, Gary Brownlow, in 1955. They had two daughters, Patti and Laurie. Dolores spent 37 years working for McCann-Erickson Worldwide, an advertising agency that is known for some of the most iconic advertising campaigns of the last century. As Vice President and Director of Human Resources, she was affectionately known as "DB". She wore many hats throughout her career at McCann-Erickson, but is probably most remembered for being the glue that held the organization together. She was the heart and soul of the Houston office, and was loved and admired by all those whose lives she touched. She was passionate about her work, but she was even more passionate about the people. She adored her work family.
Dolores had many talents, one of which was the art of interior decorating. In addition to her full time career, she poured her God given talent into her gift shop, April Point Gifts. She also loved to sing and play the piano, and she was a member of the choir and congregation at the First Baptist Church of Conroe. Her life was anchored by her faith in God. Dolores deeply loved her family. She would likely tell you that her greatest role was that of "Mimi". Her grandson and two granddaughters meant the world to her. Nothing could put a smile on her face quite like they could, and they believed she hung the moon. Dolores is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Gary Brownlow of Conroe; daughters, Patti Daw of Conroe and Laurie Brownlow of McKinney; three grandchildren, Cody Daw of New Orleans, Ellison Morris and Averi Morris of McKinney; and sister, Phyllis Beasley of Washington, OK. The family wishes to thank Olimpia's Senior Care of Willis, Alamo Hospice of Conroe, and all those that have provided such wonderful care and loved her throughout this journey. A celebration of life will be held to honor Dolores on October 6, 2018, at 2:00 at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe. In lieu of customary remembrances, the family requests, with gratitude, that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association in her honor at http://act.alz.org/goto/DoloresBrownlow.
