David Allan "Big Dave" Hrivnatz passed away peacefully March 17, 2016 in Conroe, Texas. David, a native Houstonian was born to Vannie King and Harry G. Hrivnatz Sr. June 22, 1943. He graduated from Lamar High School in 1961. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine Corps reservist in an amphibious unit in Galveston 1965-1971 obtaining rank of Sergeant. David was a career salesman, working his way up from draftsman to Vice President of Sales at C.E. American Pole Structures. He cherished the life-long friendships he formed with former co-workers. He was an avid outdoorsman, skilled hunter and accomplished fisherman. He competed in outdoor cooking events for many years, winning several awards for barbeque and chili (no beans!). He was a good-time man who loved to honky-tonk and his many friends. Always ready with a joke, his quick wit will be sadly missed. He is survived by daughter Jennifer Robin Cameron, grandson Scott Cameron, son David Jay, former wife Jan Juhl Hrivnatz, brother Harry Jr., nephews Mark and Trey, and great-nephew Reed.
