David Wayne Hohensee was born on June 7, 1962 to Calvin Hohensee and Mary
Hohensee in Houston, Texas. David attended Wharton High School, while there he
started his first job at Schaller’s Meat Market as a meat cutter. After David graduated
from Wharton High School in 1980, he went on to study business at Sam Houston State
University. He was a member of the Business Fraternity Pi Sigma Epsilon, ΠΣΕ, Beta
Psi chapter. After graduating with a Bachelor's degree in business, he started a job at
Brookshire Brothers as a meat cutter, kickstarting a 34 year long career in business.
In 1989, David met Patsy at Brookshire Brothers in Alvin, Texas. David was
blessed with a large and loving family. He married his best friend, Patsy Hohensee, on
February 3, 1996 in Wharton, Texas at Holy Family Catholic Church. David and Patsy
went on to have 3 children, Ronnie, Kourtney, and Chelsey. David and Patsy have been
married for 27 years.
David was a devoted and loving Husband, Father, Brother, and Grandfather
“Pop.” He had lots of hobbies that he loved, including spending time with his family,
coaching his daughters in softball, attending and watching The Astros, going fishing,
golfing, and even bowling. In David’s younger years he was involved in a mixed bowling
league at Tiger bowl in Wharton, Texas with Robert Cerny, Karen Dornak, and Beth
West. He continued to bowl in Alvin, Texas on Thursday nights mixed with co-workers
from Brookshire Brothers. When David attended Sam Houston State University he met
Don Wallin who soon became one of his dearest friends, they were members of the
same business fraternity. David and Don would go golfing and fishing together. They
shared lots of laughs with one another, he was even Don’s best man in his wedding.
David was a third-degree member of The Knights of Columbus in Wharton, Texas.
David was preceded in death by his Father Calvin Hohensee, Mother Mary
Hohensee, Aunt Pearl Hohensee, Nephew Jared Hohensee, Brother-in-law David
Lowe, Sister-in-law Sheri Hohensee, and Mother-in-law Patricia Lewis.
He is survived by his Wife Patsy Hohensee, Son Ronnie Hebert, Daughters Kourtney and Chelsey
Hohensee, Daughter-in-law Alyssa Hebert, Granddaughters Alania Sanchez and
McKenna Hebert, Grandson Dalton Hebert, Sister Debbie Lowe, Brothers Ronnie and
Randy Hohensee, Aunt Virginia Zook, Nephews Jason and Dusty Lowe, Michael
Hohensee, Nieces Heather Cassity, Zia Lowe, Stephaine Alford, Ashley Stair, Great
Nephew Gibson Lowe, Great Nieces Gemma Lowe, Brinley Fogleman, Savannah and
Brianna Hohensee, Father-in-law David Lewis, Brother-in-law Ray Hebert, Sister-in-law
Rhea Scadden.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 2:00pm in Cashner Colonial Chapel with burial to follow in Garden Park Cemetery.
