Claudia, was born and raised in Conroe, Texas. "I was born on 1st street!" she made sure to always remind us. It was hard to be serious around her. Everything could be made into a joke. You never knew she was in pain because she had a good way of masking it. She knew we depended on her so she made sure, even though she felt sick, to put us first. She didnt care to be without, as long her her babies had what they needed. And she fought hard for each and everyone of us. She went up to bat for all of us each time we needed her to. Never missed any of our special days or moments. She was always our biggest fan. The loudest in the crowd. She was proud of what she made, and even prouder of the grandchildren she felt lucky to have. She adored them and always made sure they knew, Grandma was always going to be there for them. Shes the one with the candy and sweets whenever they wanted it. It was rare to see her sad, or tired. She made sure to care for everyone around her who needed her. They confided in her, they relied on her. She is the GLUE that held the entire family together.
She was the youngest of 8 siblings, but even though she was the youngest, she was the bravest. She was the one everyone called almost every day at least once. If family gatherings were to be planned, she was the one to call to set it up. When her own parents passed, she was the brave one that stepped up and made sure everyone grieved while she planned everything out. If you needed to vent, she would wake up, sit out in the kitchen and just listen. Sometimes of course she would fall asleep on us, but she would wake up and say " i didnt fall asleep" lol and we would just silently laugh and continue.
Being around Claudia was always like a comedy show. You were guaranteed to cry from tears being around her. She was naturally funny. And she knew how to lighten the mood. Everyone enjoyed their time around her. She was sweet and kind. But make her mad or mess with her kids and she came with a bat. "Im the momma bear rawrr, Hold me back!"
Her favorite time of day was waking up on Saturday and Sunday mornings, pull out matching Mr and Mrs mugs and sit at the kitchen table with Juan and, drink their coffee and eat some pan dulce. She loved her morning coffees. She collected mugs and had plenty to choose from. She spent 22 years alongside her husband and took care of the entire household for the family. We all depended on her. And she loved it. She definitely leaves behind a huge void. But she molded us to be strong, and to think for ourselves. She showed us how to carry on and not to be afraid.
Claudia was one of a kind. No one will ever come close to who she was. This world is going to be so hard to live without her. Life will be hard to do without her. But i know she is with us always.
Our mother loved us. She fought her hardest not to leave us but i know she left knowing she raised us right and she made us strong like her. She will always be our guardian angel!
