Clarence Hairston (Hershey) Muse Jr. of Conroe was born in Houston, Texas on October 7, 1949 and passed away April 14, 2014 in The Woodlands, Texas. He was a lifelong resident of Conroe. He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence Hairston Muse, Sr. and Emma F. Muse. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Becky; sister, Marsha Muse of Arlington, Texas: and numerous cousins.
Hershey graduated from Conroe High School and earned his BBA in Management at Baylor University. While at Baylor, he met his wife Becky and they were married in 1974. He was also a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, formerly known as Tryon Coterie. After graduation he worked in the paper industry for 39 years.
He was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Conroe and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Hershey was a former member of the Rotary Club of Conroe where he served on the Board of Directors and was recognized as a Paul Harris Fellow.
Visitation will be 5:30pm to 8:00pm Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Metcalf Funeral Directors. The funeral services will be held at 10:00am Thursday April 17, 2014 at the First Baptist Church of Conroe with Dr. Charles Walton officiating. The interment will follow in Conroe Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Richard Crowell, Ford Smith, Fred Greer, Billy Wood, Jim Arnold, John Grafton, Jim Cheatham, and Tim Tomerlin. Serving as honorary pallbearer is David Todd.
