Christopher Dominic “Chris” Toffolo, 56, of Montgomery, Texas peacefully passed away on August 1, 2020 after years of illness. A native Marylander, Chris was born on November 12, 1963 in Silver Spring, Maryland and adopted to Dominic and Dorothy Toffolo of Hillcrest Heights, Maryland . He graduated from Bishop McNamara High School, class of 1981, where he played football and the trumpet. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland College Park for Business Management and General Studies.
At the time of his passing, Chris thoroughly enjoyed his successful career as a buyer for Bunzl Distribution for the last 10 years. He was a long-standing active member of the Knights of Columbus where he served as the volunteer Building Manager at their Bowie Chapter. He was named Knight of the year in the early 1990s, before achieving their most prestigious level as a 4th degree Knight. His other interests included classic cars, cooking, fishing, golfing, woodworking, and spending time with his beloved grandson, Benjamin.
Chris will be sorely missed by his wife of seven years, Colleen Clayton. He was a devoted father to daughter, Katherine (Warren) Oxman, and outstanding PopPop to grandson, Benjamin. Chris is also survived by stepson, John Clayton; biological father, Michael (Naomi) Powell; seven siblings, Mary Elizabeth Toffolo-Cresce, Regina Toffolo, Anthony Toffolo, Kelly (Fred) Holzberger, William (Sarah) Powell, Justin (Marisa) Powell, and Dawn (Jimi) Rentz. He will also be dearly missed by his nieces, nephews, and many life-long friends.
He was preceded in death by father, Dominic Toffolo; mother, Dorothy Toffolo; biological mother, Denise (Toulotte) Kotajarvi; brother, Michael Powell Jr., and brother-in-law, Arthur “Art” Cresce.
A memorial service will be offered on August 22, at 10 AM, at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. A Catholic Mass and memorial service will be held in Maryland at a later date.
