Caroline Lavinia (Brown) Leach, 88, went to be with her loving Savior on Friday, March 12, 2021, after a short illness at home in Texas with family. She was born in Cortland, NY on May 27, 1932 to John DeVillo Brown and Esther (Shuler) Brown and was a life-long resident of McGraw, NY and a life-long member of the McGrawville Baptist Church.
Caroline graduated from McGraw Central School in 1951 and then from CCBI (Central City Business Institute, Syracuse) in 1951.
Caroline was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Robert Percy Leach in 2001. They enjoyed their cottage on the St. Lawrence River and activities with family and friends. Both were members of the American Legion.
Caroline enjoyed her Secretarial position at the McGraw Elementary School from 1967 and retired in 1992. She was dedicated and loved the kids. She also enjoyed reading, music, baking, sewing and other various hobbies through the years. She loved to sing and was a member of the Nightingales. Caroline often went to functions with her sister, Mary Rutan; cousins, Esther Gros and Barbara Gros Klockowski to sing. They sang often at Cortland Park Nursing Home.
Her life will be forever cherished by her daughter, Marylou Leach (TX); grandchildren, Lisa Barone (PA), Serina {Robert} Hostler (TX); great grandchildren, Jaycee Leinaweaver (PA), and Robert Hostler III (TX). She also leaves behind nieces and nephews, and several cousins.
Caroline was predeceased by a half-brother, Tom Brown; brother, Phillip Brown; a sister, Mary Rutan; and cousins; Esther Heath Gros, Olin Heath and Carl Kimberly.
