Carlton Eugene Ford

Carlton, together with his loving wife of 57 years, Ira, was a long time dedicated member of the Grangerland Church of Christ. As a young man, Carlton worked for his father at his business, Pop Kola Bottling Plant and Ford's Auto and Filling Station, both in Conroe, TX. Together with his father, they established Ford's Auto Parts and Used Cars in 1958. Beginning in 1961, Carlton served in the U.S. Army for four years, stationed in Louisiana, Kansas, and Korea.

Carlton was preceded in death by his brother Jim C. Ford. He is survived by his devoted wife, Ira; daughter Cindy Thornberry and husband Charles, of Witter AR; son Charles Ford and wife Wendy; sister Martha McDonald, sister Jeanette Cox and husband Russell Sr., all of Conroe. Carlton's grandchildren include Christy Wilson and husband Jason, of Springdale, AR; Katie Thornberry, of Harrison, AR; and Chad Thornberry, of Witter, AR; Maddie Ford, Taylor Ford, Stella “Sadie” Ford, Christian Inniss, and Brendan Inniss, all of Conroe; and great-grandson Cooper Wilson of Springdale, AR. Other close family members include Lisa and Rex Simpson, Saraya Simpson, Dakota Simpson, Dave and Kaye McDonald, Jesse McDonald, Jordan McDonald, Mike McDonald, Christina and Michael Roley, Brianna Vincent, Joshua Roley, and Gary and Linda Capps. He is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Gary Capps, David McDonald, Mike McDonald, Jason Wilson, Dakota Simpson, Chad Thornberry, Charles Thornberry, and Rex Simpson. Honorary pallbearers include Christian Inniss, Brendan Inniss, Jesse McDonald, Jordan McDonald, Joshua Roley, and Christopher Thomas.

Carlton was a well known and respected member of the Conroe community. He will be greatly missed, and the way he lived his life will continue to be an inspiration to so many who knew him.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Cashner Colonial Chapel, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas, 77303 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Funeral service will be also be held at Cashner Colonial Chapel on Monday, October 28, 2013 at 12:30 p.m.
