Mrs. Cox was born August 7, 1940, in Wellsville, Missouri, a daughter of John Richard and Martha Lydia Cobb Arnall.
On November 27, 1959, she married John Calton “J.C.” Cox, at the home of Rev. C.C. Riley, in Wellsville. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2003.
Bonnie was a homemaker, having raised her children and had been active in their lives and activities. When J.C.’s health failed, she became his primary care giver for 15 years. Bonnie was a member of the First Baptist Church of Winfield, Missouri, after many years as a member of the First Christian Church of Wellsville. She was also of member of the Royal Neighbors of America.
She had lived in Conroe for the past 8 years, most of that time with her daughter, Jill, until her poor health required her stay at Woodland Manor in August 2015. She had lived with her husband in St. Charles, Missouri for over 20 years and Winfield, Missouri for 23 years, before moving to Blue Springs, Missouri to be closer to her son in 2003. Bonnie enjoyed working with her hands and was known for her numerous crochet afghans and craft projects. During her stay at Woodland Manor, she was known for coloring pictures for the staff who were important to her.
She is survived by her son, James “Jamie” Cox of Plano, Texas, and her daughter and son-in-law, Clint and Jill Griswold of Conroe, Texas; three granddaughters, Shelby Nelson of Cayce, South Carolina, Skylar and Shyann Nelson of Stuttgart, Germany; and one great-grandson, Mason Nelson. She is also survived by her adopted daughter, Amanda Berset, and grandchildren, Steven and Kaelin Berset, who she loved like her own children, as well as numerous of friends of Jill and Jamie that Bonnie “adopted” as her own children through the years. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Calton Cox; and one brother, John Richard Arnall, Jr.
Private funeral services will be held with burial in Wellsville Cemetery, Wellsville, Missouri.
