He served the Houston Police Department for 40 years as a Police Officer and was recognized with numerous letters of commendations from Mayors, the Police Chiefs, supervisors, and citizens. He was awarded on several occasions for his work as a drug dog handler with the HPD Narcotic Division.
His passion was hunting whether it was two legged at work or four legged in the country. He found great joy and comfort in the outdoors. His skills as a bow hunter were unsurpassed. He loved the hunt even more than the kill of the animals he pursued.
Bill was a member of Kingsland Baptist Church for many years where he was also baptized.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Phyllis, their daughter Rachel and husband Blake Hines, grandchildren Katelynn and Collin and his bother Mike and wife Gerry. He is preceded in death by his parents Bill and Louise Corley.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday May 12, 2023, 11:00 a.m. in the Worship Center at Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy, Texas with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Concan VFD. They spent untold exhaustive hours and manpower in their recovery efforts.
