On June 28, 1932, the name Billy Frank Box was penned in the book of Life. Born to the late James Elmer and Carrie Velma Box in Haslam, Texas, Bill graduated from Reagan High School in 1951. He later obtained a degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of Houston in 1971. On February 14, 1970, Bill married Faye McCasland and continued a life of loving, caring, and sharing.
Throughout his lifetime, Bill garnered the love and respect of many life-long friends and co-workers. He was valued for his honesty and sincere concern for others. Bill rendered brave service to this Country as a proud member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a dependable man who had a strong work ethic; he retired from Atlantic Richfield Company (ARCO) in 1988 with 31 years of dedicated service. Bill was a longtime member of the Reagan $ Club. During his years as a resident of Bayou Vista, Bill enjoyed fishing, boating, and being on the water. Bill had a zest for living and he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Bill enjoyed laughter and sharing love until God sent his angels to receive his soul on November 29, 2018.
Bill was preceded in death by two daughters, Monica Knowles and Brenda Williams and six siblings: JC Box, Fred Box, Bobby Box, Marie Kalana, Marceil Burgess, and Geraldine Crain. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 48 years, Faye McCasland Box; children, Valerie (Charles) Freeman, Michael (Andrea) McCasland, Donald (Margaret) Box, David (Katrina) McCasland, Karen (Steve) Sicard, Susan (Mike) Stamper; sister, Sara Reiland; twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-two great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life, officiated by Brother Bill Hamlin, will be held at 10:00 A.M., on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas with a reception immediately following the services.
