Bernice is preceded in death by her husband, Noble Capps, Sr.; parents, W.P. and Ella Straily; sons, William (Rusty), Larry, and James Capps; granddaughter, Christina Davis; grandsons, Chris Capps and Timothy Sutton; great granddaughter, Kaci Clark; great grandson, Jordan Christopher Capps; and brothers, Floyd Straily and Howard Straily. She is survived by sons, Noble Capps, Jr. and wife Lena of Waco and Gary Capps and wife Lynda of Livingston; daughters, Sherry Davis and husband Tony of Conroe and Judy Houck and husband Lonnie of Conroe; brother, Leonard Straily of Duncan, Oklahoma; adopted son, Garland Capps and daughter-in-law Angel Capps; sixteen grandchildren; and twenty-seven great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family also survive.
Bernice was a devoted Christian, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend. She was a life member of the Conroe Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 4709. She will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 24, 2011 at 10 a.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel. Special thanks to Bernice’s brother-in-law, Jimmy Capps and wife Judith. Retired Pastor Jimmy Capps will be officiating the service. Also, special thanks to Brenda Price of St. Agnes Healthcare and Grace Hospice of Texas.
