Ben Summers, age 93, of Willis, TX, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2023, while in hospice, Conroe, TX. Known as "Big Ben," his favorite pastimes were coaching boys baseball, fishing, golf and lottery scratch offs. He was also a big fan of the Chicago Bears and enjoyed watching their games. Ben served in the National Guard and was a beverage service technician for over 30 years with Pepsi Cola (Chicago) and Coca Cola (Conroe).
Ben was born on May 13, 1930, in Chicago, IL. He was the son of the late Marya and Benon Sobieszczyk-Summers. Surviving to mourn Ben's passing are his wife of 65 years Loretta (Lorrie) Summers; sons Gary and Susan Summers, Robert and Lorri Summers; grandsons Gregory (late Clare) Summers, Trevor Summers; granddaughter Jennifer and Wesley Mentzer; great grandchildren Addison and Jaxon Mentzer; his sweet pet Sheba; as well as numerous other loving relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023 beginning at 10:00am with a reception to follow at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe, Texas.
