Marlene married Patrick J. Dyar in 1953 and celebrated 67 years of married life with him before his passing in 2020. They had 2 daughters.
Marlene lived in Marietta most of her life, and was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, the American Legion Post 64 Auxiliary and Pride and Joy OCCL. She was a loving wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, travelling, painting, cooking, playing cards and flower gardening. Her favorite time of year was Christmas and she loved decorating and entertaining, especially at that time of year.
Marlene is survived by her two daughters; Michele Dyar of Pompton Lakes, NJ, and Tammy (Gary) Gannon of Montgomery, TX; two grandchildren; Trevor Clayton of Denver, CO, and Angela Clayton of Belton, TX; a sister, Judy (Tom) Urich of Valley Village, CA. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her sister Mary Jo McCauley and an infant brother.
There will be a memorial service at the VA Cemetery of Central Texas later this year. At that time, her remains will be interred with her husband Pat. Please feel free to make contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in her name.
