Alfleta Fern Messer Andrew Young, 85, was born on July 29, 1934, in Harlan, Kentucky. She was gently taken home by our gracious Lord, on February 20, 2020, from her home, in Montgomery, Texas. After graduating from Eastern Kentucky University in 1965, Alfleta lead an enriched life as a professional educator for more than 50 years. The amazing talent she was blessed with, carried not only to the students she taught, but to her own family. Her passion and knowledge for cooking has been passed down to her family for generations to come. She was in her glory in the kitchen preparing fabulous meals for anyone who was hungry. Alfleta is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Goldie Andrew of Walton, Kentucky, husband, Frank Young III of Batavia, Ohio, daughter and son in law, Pamelia Ann and husband Dr. Pedro A. Delgadillo,M.D., of Spring, Texas, brother, Darl W. Messer and sister, Anna J. Retzler both of Lexington, Kentucky. She leaves behind her daughters, Cheryl Lynn Scahill and husband Thomas A. Scahill of Florence, Kentucky, Letitia Fern Baker and husband Steven Baker of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Alfleta Lou Bowman and Terry Guerrero of Montgomery, Texas, son, Andrew Christian Young of Conroe, Texas, 11 grandchildren, Roberto, Petin, Pamelia, Jennifer, Valerie, Shannon, Christopher, Brandon, Garret, Taylor, Benjamin and 14 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive. Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2020, from 12:00pm to 1:30pm at Cashner Funeral Home, 801 Teas Road, Conroe, Texas 77303. Graveside services will follow in Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery, 1600 Porter Road, Conroe, Texas 77301, at 2:00pm.
